Bastion Receives Space Flight Awareness Award from United Space Alliance (USA)
On November 11, 2008, in a conference room brimming with excited Bastion Space Program Operations Contract (SPOC) personnel, the question was asked, "How many of you in this room have ever flown into space?" One hand raised. The hand belonged to former Shuttle Commander and now the CEO of United Space Alliance (USA), Mr. Dick Covey. The reason for Mr. Covey's visit was to present a very prestigious award to Bastion, the Space Flight Awareness Award. Bastion was chosen from 2,200 other vendors who support USA. Accolades and sincere appreciation flowed from Bastion’s customers. Barbara Grimes, Abigail Almeida, Don Herring, John Hamilton, and Gary Henderson gave a wide variety of examples where Bastion personnel worked together as a team to make sure each task was accomplished on time and with the highest quality. Bastion’s USA workforce consists of more than 120 creative individuals who support tasks ranging from Computer Aided Design to website development and maintenance and from graphic design and illustration for USA’s newsletter to electronic library repository and research services. Linda Retherford leads Bastion’s SPOC efforts and consistently maintains a high level of customer satisfaction. Congratulations Linda and the entire SPOC team. | ||||||||||||
