Bastion MSFC News - Huntsville, Alabama
May 2020

Bastion provided vital SSE services toward the Certification of Flight Readiness (CoFR) and successful launch of the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket used for the historic SpaceX Demo Mission 2 on May 31st, 2020.

Bastion SSE Mike Fitch, Dave Lamont, Steve Martin, Chris McLemore, and Greg Snell all provided insight for NASA into the review and validation of thousands of verification products used to support the flight certification of the Falcon 9 Launch Vehicle. Mr. LaMont (pictured; second from the right), served as the MSFC SMA Falcon 9 Launch Vehicle Safety Lead, supporting real-time launch operations thru manning a console in the launch support complex. During pre-launch and launch operations, Mr. LaMont was responsible for monitoring the Falcon 9 systems to ensure warnings, alarms, and potential issues were appropriately adjudicated by the SpaceX mission controllers.
